Pale and bloated, a dead body, churns in the filthy currents of the Empire City harbor. Excellent characters in this story. Timber town based mystery. The death, suicide or accident, of the estranged son of timber baron and murder of a reporter start this story rolling. Believable characters with entertaining, realistic and thought provoking dialogue. Both easy to follow and twisting plot line. No drag-on drama."As I scanned the graves, I wondered what it must be like not only to live, but to die in such splendid isolation, surrounded by nothing but that which you owned or controlled. They did not control death, in any event."
