I loved reading about these amazing and brilliantly written characters that I couldn't get enough of them as I was living them also. Jesse and Cole graduating and finding their dream jobs in Boystown. Now we have Derek and Joyelle and their perfect marriage as he has a successful job and she is a nurse but a dark secret threatens their perfect life and will they survive it or will the secret be too damaging for their relationship. Max and Logan have been together for years but their relationship hits a serious bump in the road. One of them takes a wrong turn and isn't willing to get help from the other so can their relationship withstand this as it seems that only one of them is working on staying together. Emmett and Keith are such an amazing couple together and now reaching that special place in their relationship. As Keith plans on something very special for his love Emmett but something or someone will be trying to end what they have together.
There is so much going on with these characters that you will be in a inconstant page turning frenzy and loving every minute of it. There are quite a few sub characters that add some great fun and drama to the story such as the mother Jacqueline and her much younger lover. Ben who has feelings for one of the guys in a relationship and man he adds some delicious drama. Nick, Todd and Justin and the fun they provide but someone might not literally survive all the drama. There's a very hot detective and man he will get your juices flowing and trust me on that one.
I completely enjoyed how this book was written in episodes and each one had a cliff-hanger just like watching a tv show so I found that so uniquely imaginative and so much more fun than the typical chapters. The beautiful way Jake told the story and his brilliant writing style of ease and fast paced made reading Boystown a complete thrill and I loved it from the very first line until the climative end. I so would love to go and find Boystown and meet these exciting characters as that is how you will feel about them. You won't be able to stop thinking about them for days to come. This is why I am thrilled that Season 2 will be dropping soon as everyone will be dying to read the next season. Jake Biondi did an amazing job on this novel and I count myself as a new fan of his work. So I highly recommend this novel Boystown to everyone who loves an amazing MM/GLBT novel, fun and wild characters, drama, forgiveness, betrayal and LOVE!!!!!

I was 9 years old in 1980 when one of the biggest and first cliffhangers in television history took place… *WHO SHOT JR?* …and I remember it like it was yesterday. Yes, I was a kid who grew up watching the dramas from the late 70’s and 80’s with her mom. From Dallas to Knots Landing to Dynasty there was not a show that we didn’t consume.
So what a surprise it was that these covers would lead me to relive the glory days of 80’s television.
I had no idea what I was really getting into. Marco mentioned lots of cheating and then made comments regarding Dynasty and hoping it lived up to it. Well…little did we know that not only would this series live up to this glory but it would exceed our expectations in every way possible.
I had high hopes for my favorite 80’s bi... to make her presence known…(Yes, I loved me some Abby Ewing)…but while there are certainly some conniving manipulative women in this series, she has not yet come to mind for me…yet…ohhh I do hope it comes soon.
And when shows like Melrose Place came out in the 90’s there was no way I could not watch and submerge myself once again into the craziness that was dramatic television…and certainly aspects of this series come to mind several times as well…with one crazy woman definitely being thought of.
As with all of these shows leave reality, morality and trust at the door, people, as there is nothing good natured about anything or anyone depicted in this series and that is what made it truly brilliant. Jake Biondi, like myself, no doubt grew up watching these iconic shows and characters and from that developed a fantastic series that took his beautiful, cheating, backstabbing, horny, mischievous men on a ride we will not soon forget. And the cliffhangers get better and better with each season. Just WOW!
This series is sex filled. And I mean filled. From MFM, to MF to MM to rape there is a little bit of everything. Cheating at every turn, condoms tampered with, left off and cum covering every internal organ of every character…it is hard at times to keep up with who is with who, but damn…
I ate this up. Theories on who’s the daddy, who is stalking who, who killed who, who kidnapped who…it was brilliant and lived up to “Who Shot JR?” days of television.
I cannot recommend this ride enough. Enjoy!
This is sort of going to be a combined review for the first 6 books ("seasons") all in one, mostly because I powered through them all in a week and can't quite separate them in my head at the moment. In a word, wow!
First, a couple small cons I absolutely can't stand the writing style, but when you consider the stories read more like a daytime soap opera or TV drama than a novel, the writing style actually works very well. Also, the sex scenes were brief and repetitive (after reading "He ran his feet up the back of his legs" a few dozen times, I found myself skimming just a bit), but still incredibly hot. The style, however, did not stop me from powering through the pages.
This is one of those books I'm going to have to read again not just for the sake of the stories, but also for the sake of study. Biondi keeps you constantly at the edge of your seat, desperate to know what's going to happen next, and I'm going to have to read them again just to absorb some of his skill in doing so.
The cliffhangers! Gah, the cliffhangers! So frustrating but so brilliant at the same time. It's like watching an intense TV drama and being desperate for next week's episode to find out who the killer is or if the hero is alive or dead. If you want a book the will utterly distract you from life because you just can't stop reading, this is the series for you. Now I'm eagerly awaiting Season 7!
